- Decorative art tiles made by Handcraft Tile.
- Handmade; hand pressed; hand glazed; hand buffed; no two alike.
- Decos (3): Lorraine, Snowflake, Exalt; all are 4" x 4", 1/2" thick.
- Small field tiles (4): 1-3/4" x 1-3/4".
- Vignette is 8" x 8" including inside grout lines.
- Glaze Treatment Name: Buffed Engobe.
- Details of Treatment: a green slip glaze (engobe) was sprayed over a brown slip glaze base. Part of the glazes were buffed (sanded) off revealing the adobe clay underneath. This gives the tiles a vintage look. For durability, a clear shiny glaze was applied as a topcoat. Engobes have been used for thousands of years.
